Man Charged With Killing Fiancée, Dog and Leaving Bodies for Her 11-Year-Old Son
Charges are filed in Nebraska against a 25-year-elderly person blamed for lethally wounding a mother of two and her pooch before escaping her Malmo home, leaving the dead lady for her young children to seek out. 
The Saunders County Sheriff's Office has arrested Kolton Barnes on first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, maltreatment, and animal cruelty charges.
Police assert that Barnes murdered his 27-year-old life partner, Kayla Matulka, on July 15.

Specialists got a report of an expired lady in a matter of seconds before 9:30 a.m. that morning, consistent with Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz.

Matulka was found by her 11-year-old son, who then ran to a close-by house for help.
"He told [the neighbor] he thought his mom was dead," Stukenholtz told columnists.

The neighbor visited the house and located Matulka dead from multiple stab wounds.

KETV is reporting that Barnes was immediately identified as a suspect within the killing, and arrested hours later.

AT the arrest time, Barnes purportedly told investigators, "I wish I could have halted myself," reports the station.
He additionally purportedly murdered Matulka's pooch, a dark Labrador retriever named Diesel.

According to the Fremont Tribune, the couple was engaged in March and getting to marry in October.

The paper reports that Barnes isn't the daddy of Matulka's two children.

Stukenholtz told reporters the youngsters are now with their father, who lives in Lincoln.
KETV, referring to court records, reports the suspect conceded erasing an instant message he'd sent to the person in question, purportedly taking steps to kick in the front passage after she guided him to go away.
Barnes also allegedly told police that he thought "all day" about "why I didn't take me last night too," indicating he was contemplating suicide.

Barnes is being held without bail and didn't enter pleas to the fees during his arraignment Monday.

He are going to be back before a judge on July 30.
